Prophet Passion Java and Prophetess Lily Confirm Divorce After 10 Years of Marriage, Pledge United Co-Parenting

Prominent Zimbabwean televangelist Passion Java and his wife, Lily Java, have confirmed the dissolution of their marriage after more than a decade together, with both parties pledging to remain committed co-parents to their three sons.

Lily Java broke the news publicly, disclosing that the couple’s union had already been legally dissolved before her announcement. “After prayer, counsel and much reflection, I want to formally acknowledge that my marriage has been legally dissolved for some time,” she said in a statement.

She described the decision as one reached with deliberate care, characterised by what she called “sobriety, clarity, and conviction.” Lily added that choosing peace going forward does not amount to excusing the past, but rather reflects a pursuit of wisdom for the future.

The statement also signalled a clean break in both personal and professional ties. “We are no longer connected in marriage, leadership, or vision,” she said. “Each of us is pursuing the individual path and assignment God has entrusted to us.”

Despite the separation, Lily emphasised that the welfare of their children remains the couple’s foremost concern. “Our three sons continue to be our highest priority, and we are committed to raising them with stability, love, and intentional care.”

Passion Java, one of Zimbabwe’s most recognisable and controversial religious figures, confirmed the split in a separate statement, saying the decision was not made lightly. He struck a conciliatory tone, describing himself and Lily as friends who remain united in their parental roles.

“Though our marriage has come to an end, we remain friends and committed partners in raising our three beautiful children,” he said. “Divorce does not change my responsibility or dedication as a father.”

He added that the conclusion of the marriage would allow both of them to pursue their respective callings with greater clarity and purpose, while upholding mutual respect.

Passion Java rose to prominence through his flamboyant lifestyle and high-profile ministry, attracting both a devoted following and significant public scrutiny over the years. The couple had been married for approximately ten years and share three children.
