    The 2024 Metro FM Music Awards is the 18th annual ceremony of the Metro FM Music Awards, the ceremony was aired live on SABC1 and hosted by ProVerb and LootLove on April 27, 2024, at Mbombela Stadium in Mbombela, Mpumalanga, South Africa.
    This year, each category winner received R50 000, with the Song of the Year winners, Kabza De Small and Mthunzi, walking away with R150,000. Their wins included: Best Produced Album, Best Collaboration, and Best Amapiano.

    The Metro FM Music Awards, one of South Africa’s most prestigious music events, recently took place, honoring the best and brightest talents in the country’s music industry. From electrifying performances to well-deserved awards, the event was a celebration of the diversity and creativity that defines South African music.

    Mthandazo Gatya – “IN 2 U”

    Lwah Ndlunkulu

    Leading the pack was Lwah Ndlunkulu, who took home the coveted Artist of the Year award. Ndlunkulu’s talent and artistry have made him a standout figure in the music scene, and his win was a testament to his dedication and hard work.

     

    Kabza De Small & Mthunzi

    Another highlight of the evening was the award for Song of the Year, which went to the collaborative effort of Kabza De Small & Mthunzi for their hit track “Imithandazo” featuring Young Stunna, Maphorisa, Sizwe Alakine, and Umthakathi Kush. The infectious rhythm and soulful vocals of the song captured the hearts of listeners across the nation, making it a well-deserved recipient of this prestigious award.

    Aymos

    In the category of Best Male Artist, Aymos emerged victorious, while Makhadzi took home the title of Best Female Artist.

     

    Both artists have made significant contributions to the music industry, and their wins were a testament to their talent and versatility.

     

    The Best Hip Hop Album Award went to A-Reece for his album “Ving Rhames,” showcasing his lyrical prowess and storytelling abilities.

     

    Additionally, Mthandazo Gatya was recognized for his outstanding contributions to the R&B genre, winning the Best R&B award.
