DJ Tira is offering a reward to anyone who can give him “legit information” about recording equipment stolen from Afrotaintment Studios.

The ‘Sikilidi’ hitmaker’s team revealed thieves emptied out the studio on Wednesday night. Not only did they make off with expensive equipment, but also with hard drives containing songs on them.

Several artists shared a statement about the stolen equipment on social media.

“There was a break in at Afrotainment Studio. All studio equipment was stolen. This includes hard drives that consist of music files – including unreleased music,” Tipcee shared on Instagram.

The statement continued: “If anybody has any information or comes across people who are selling studio equipment that is suspected to be the equipment stolen from Afrotainment, please contact us IMMEDIATELY.”

Afrotainment, which is founded and owned by DJ Tira, has offered a R20,000 reward.

“There is a reward of R20,000 for anyone who provides information that leads to the successful recovery of the studio equipment.”

KwaMashu rapper Duncan Siphamandla Mbambo also lost some of his music. However, he still has some songs as they were recorded in a different studio.

“I had a few songs that I recorded at Afrotainment main studio [but] most of my work wasn’t recorded at our main studio because it’s always busy and my music mostly requires almost the whole day to record,” he wrote.

Duncan, who is currently working on his new album, ‘iNcwadi Yezono’, assured his fans this won’t set him back.

“Although it hurts that we have to go through this as AFRO and most of people have lost umsebenzi omningi but I’m grateful for that I’m left with most of my work …. So sit back and relax the album #IncwadiYezono is still coming.”
