Youngest Mother Ever In Africa Meet 9-Year-Old Girl!
A 9-year-old girl from the Matabeleland province in Tsholotsho,a, gave birth to a baby girl last Monday, 14 November 2022- She still holds Africa’s Youngest Mum record.
The young girl who gave birth at United Bulawayo Hospital with the help of a cesarean section is now Zimbabwe’s youngest mom.
Clinical director of the hospital, Dr Harrison Rambanapasi, told The Herald Zimbabwe, “I wish to inform the nation that our 9-year-old has given birth at UBH.”
According to the national newspaper, the healthy baby weighed just over 3 kg.
Zimbabwean Republic (ZRP) police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, confirmed on 26 November that the father of the child is the new mother’s 13-year-old cousin.
This refuted the social media claims that the girl had been abused by her father.
The ZRP advised the two will receive “appropriate counselling from the police Victim Friendly Unit.”

London: A nine-year-old girl in China has reportedly become the world’s youngest mother after giving birth to a boy by Caesarean section.
According to the ‘Daily Express’, the unnamed girl was brought to a hospital in Changchun when she was more than eight months pregnant, and two days later she gave birth by Caesarean section to a boy weighing six pounds. Despite the girl’s age and potential for medical complications, both the mother and baby are doing well, the British tabloid said.
The family has apparently refused to discuss the circumstances of the pregnancy but had reported it to police. Some reports suggested the girl had been raped. In fact, in China, sex with a child under the age of fourteen is an automatic rape conviction.
Police were said to be trying to establish who the father was.
Young pregnancies are said to be on the rise in China. About 30 per cent of recent abortions in a Shanghai hospital were carried out on schoolgirls, the report said.
A 12-year-old girl is thought have become Britain’s youngest ever mother when she gave birth in 2006.
9-Year-Old Is Youngest Mum In Malaysia, Reveals Ngo Chief
PETALING JAYA: A nine-year-old girl is the youngest mother on record in the country, according to the head of an NGO.
Speaking to Sinar Harian, Yayasan Ikhlas chairman Zainur Rashid Zainuddin said the girl became pregnant after she was raped by her brother, who had been influenced by pornographic videos he had watched online.
She added that the case, which happened three years ago in Penang, was of concern due to the girl’s young age.
“In the past, cases of childbirth out of wedlock involved teenagers aged 17 to 18, but now it’s happening among girls from the ages of nine to 13,” Zainur said.
“In Negeri Sembilan and Terengganu, there have been cases involving girls aged 11 to 13.”
She added that the number of cases involving teenage pregnancies had also been on the rise in recent years.
According to Zainur, a study showed that one out of every 10 teenagers in Malaysia has had some sexual relations, with most cases involving boys aged 13 to 16 after being exposed to online porn.
She was speaking at the launch of the Sexuality and Reproductive Health Education Module (ReproAlert) in Putrajaya, an Islamic-based sexuality and reproductive health education module aimed at addressing sexual issues among children and teenagers.
Yayasan Ikhlas was formed in 2009 with the aim of helping orphans, the disabled, and the hardcore poor.
It also provides assistance in disaster relief efforts and scholarships or incentives to individuals or groups for their studies or research in Malaysia.
